Florida Lotto has distributed over $9.87 billion to more than 228 million winners. The average payout per jackpot winner in 2003 has been $16.53 million, and 766 lucky jackpot winners since 1988 have claimed over $7.33 billion. The average total prize money disbursed each draw to all winners in 2003 has been $6.32 million.

The highest jackpot payout per winner was registered on 03-29-00, when one ticket claimed $81.60 million. This massive jackpot had accumulated after 8 consecutive rollovers which started on March 1 and continued throughout the entire month. The lowest jackpot payout per winner was documented on 06-24-89, when 9 people claimed $777,778 each [sharing a total jackpot of $7 million]. The highest 5/6 payout per winner occurred on 09-17-88, when 125 people claimed $12,582 each. And the lowest 5/6 payout per winner happened on 06-24-89, when a record 2,954 people received $320.00 each. Interestingly, all minimum "payout per winner" records were set during the month of June.

Sep 1990: The highest jackpot in Lotto history was set on 09-15-90 in the amount of $106.50 million. That draw also established total payout records for all other winning categories, including an aggregate payout of $134.03 million. Four consecutive rollovers had accumulated this enormous amount of prize money, which in the end was shared by 1.93 million total winners - including six who split the jackpot [each one collecting $17.75 million].

Oct 1991: About a year later, on 10-26-91, over 2 million people set the all-time record for most winners per draw. This time, four consecutive rollovers had accrued a colossal jackpot of $89.78 million, which was shared by six winners. The draw yielded an aggregate payout of $113.41 million, which was the second highest in Lotto history.

Dec 2002: More than 11 years later, on 12-14-02, the second highest jackpot in Lotto history was set in the amount of 104.85 million. A record rollover series of 11 consecutive draws which began on 11-06-02 had amassed this vast top prize, which was shared by four winners. The draw yielded an aggregate payout of $112.80 million.

To this day, these three draws are the only ones in Florida Lotto history which carried total payouts of over $100 million each. A total of six draws have witnessed over 1 million winners each thus far.

The maximum number of jackpot winners per draw is 9, established on three occasions: on 06-24-89, 11-23-91 and 07-31-93. On the other hand, the minimum number of jackpot winners per draw is 0 [resulting in a rollover]. Florida Lotto has recorded 535 rollovers thus far. The lowest number of aggregate winners per draw was set on 05-07-88, the very first time a Lotto draw was held. About 34,000 people shared a cumulative payout of $781,550 that day, and nobody hit the jackpot.
